Born in Germany just after the Second World War, Thomas came to Grand Forks to pursue his life long dream of playing UND hockey.  Upon discovering that he couldn't skate worth a damn, Thomas decided to graduate college.  He is often heard muttering "it was the best nine years of my life."  After college Thomas dabbled in holding down "a real job" until he discovered radio.  Being a military brat, Thomas expects his friends to change every three years and is really freaked out by the fact that they usually don't.
