Yippie, the twins have won a couple games in a row. Liriano threw a no-hitter, the HATED White Sox were the victims and are now in last place behind our Twins. This is all good, however as Twins fans we still have this nagging uneasy feeling.

I love the fact that Liriano threw a no-no but It's hard to put aside the realization that it improved his ERA to a still god awful 6.61.

That no-hitter feels good but let's be honest, it was the perhaps the worst no-hitter in baseball history. The White Sox are hitting about as bad as any team in baseball right now so the opponent wasn't up to major league standards plus only 2 K's and 6 walks in the 9 innings and 123 pitches needed to accomplish it. 6 Walks!!! the White Sox would have only needed 2 or 3 hits to take that zero off the board and turn it into 4 or 5 runs.

So, Hat's off to Liriano... I'm pulling for him... Always will as long as he has a Twins jersey but i'm taking it with a grain of salt. Can't help it. Bring on Boston and Fenway Park this weekend.

Other Twins News... The Twins are using some disabled list moves to try and jump start the squad. Trevor Plouffe and Ben Revere have been called up from AAA Rochester taking the place of Jim Thome and Jason Repko who have been placed on the roster. Both Plouffe and Revere (if they play well) have a real strong chance to stick with the Twins ala Danny Velencia last year.

Plouffe was a 1st round pick out of high school way back in 2004. The Twins have been waiting for him to come around, and it has been a long wait. He has never set the minor league world on fire and I'm not sure if the Twins brass are even counting on Plouffe to be the SS of the future but he has been pretty good so far this year in AAA. .280 batting average with 6 dingers. 6 dingers in AAA sounds pretty good for our Twins who have hit 13 total all year. Pop him in the clean up spot and let's see what happens. The Twins were not expecting much from Valencia last year. Valencia got a chance because of lack of options and he took advantage and the 3b job is now his. Plouffe has the same situation starting in Boston. I'll certainly be watching.

Ben Revere is the other prospect that should debut in LF tomorrow night. Ben was a first round pick for the Twins back in 2007. Ben is a little guy for baseball standards anyway, just 5-9 but he has hit for high average at every minor league stop along the way. The other thing that Ben has is speed. Lots of it. Revere in Left field will improve the team defense and cause problems on the base paths for opponents. Unlike Plouffe, there is no doubt that the Twins consider Revere a high level prospect. The Twins are counting on Revere being a starter for the Twins sometime in the near future, although May 2011 was much sooner than expected.

Both Plouffe and Revere have a window of opportunity here. I'm hoping that they take full advantage.
