I’ve got two boys that I’m raising and so far they have picked up none of my bad habits. Now that I’m a family man, I left the rock band thing that I did when I was younger. I spent age 17 to 35 or so moonlighting as lead vocalist with a little keyboard playing to help fill out the sound with different bands over those years, Ranging from high school garage bands to serious regional bands that toured a little and to local bands that got it’s ya-ya’s out in small clubs around the area. I was never close to the big time and never expected to get close; I just had a good time doing it. I realized I had to quit because my kids were young and demanding and it was too hard to function as a parent on Sunday morning when you got back from Warroad at . God, do I miss the band thing, but my life with my kids is beyond words and I have no regrets, just a little longing that would probably go away a couple of weeks later if I got back into it again.
My life is Family, Work and Youth Sports right now and it’s been blur.
How Bout' That... The Twins won last night. They beat the mighty Tigers 6-3. That's why you play the games.
Mike Pelfrey was decent and Justin Morneau was on fire. Justin went 4 for 5 including his 15th home run of the year.
Justin has found his power stroke... We could have used to earlier. In the past 30 days... Justin has hit 8 home runs. Only Paul Goldschmidt of the Diamondbacks(10) and Miquel Cabrera of the Tigers(9) have hit more.
Justin Morneau's contract is up this year and the Twins have to decide if they want to offer him a new contract for 2014. Up until 30 days ago... We were all wondering where Justin's Power had gone and his previos lack of power numbers reduced him to nearly zero value on the trade market. The Twins couldn't get a decent young player in return at the trade deadline because no one was interested. Are they interested now?
As for 2014... Each Justin Morneau home run should help erase any power concerns and inflate his value. A Value that had almost completely tanked before this surge. It'll be interesting to see what kind of contract he is offered next year and by whom.
Will it be the Twins? It just might be. It used to be crystal clear... He was gonna get a low dollar contract from a club willing to take a chance that he can bounce back. As he keeps hitting home runs in August the situation gets cloudier. s
