Legal issues aside, the Stone Temple Pilots' recent personnel update has brought the band back to the charts. "Out of Time" - the rockers' first single with Linkin Park's Chester Bennington on vocals - debuts at number 25 on the Billboard Rock Airplay chart and number 30 on the Alternative Songs chart.
On the latter tally, the track marks the Stone Temple Pilots' first entry since 2010 and their 22nd overall. The new STP is set to continue its recent string of live performances with Bennington at Thursday's MusicCares MAP Fund benefit in Los Angeles.
But the rockers are also reportedly dealing with the backlash from former frontman Scott Weiland. The singer recently announced online that the Bennington-led band is "not Stone Temple Pilots," while the rest of Weiland's former bandmates are reportedly suing him for allegedly trying to "hijack" the band's recent 20th anniversary tour by intentionally missing gigs.
