Green Day will be checking off a couple of concert firsts next month. The punk rockers announced that they'll be making their South by Southwest debut on Friday, March 15th as part of the ACL Live series. The appearance at the Austin, Texas, festival will also mark Green Day's first live performance since frontman Billy Joe Armstrong's onstage meltdown at the iHeartRadio festival back in September 2012.

Armstrong subsequently entered a rehab facility, and the band postponed their planned tour. They're scheduled to get back on the road starting March 28th with a show in Rosemont, Illinois.
In addition to Green Day's SXSW performance, the group will also be on hand for the screenings of two new band-related films. The documentary "¡Cuatro!," which debuted during the X Games last month, covers the making of their "¡Uno!," "¡Dos!," and " ¡Tré!" albums.
The second film, "Broadway Idiot," follows Armstrong as Green Day helped turn their "American Idiot" album into a Broadway musical. It will be making its world premiere at South by Southwest.
