An update from the band's webmaster reveals that band already has some instrumental tracks down

Tool fans, your wait for new music might be over soon.
The band's last album was released in 2006, and the reclusive quartet hasn't said anything about new music during their occasional shows the past few years. But now Tool's webmaster posted an update saying he heard some new instrumental tracks while riding in drummer Danny Carey's car.
The webmaster writes, "This was the most new material that I've heard so far, although a few of the riffs and arrangements were familiar. So, what did I think? Dare I say that it sounded like...Tool (some of it reminiscent to earlier Tool stuff, with other parts pushing the envelope), and I assume that it will sound even more like Tool once the vocal melodies, etcetera have been added."
He adds that he believes the band is more than halfway done writing for the album.
