Linkin Park's Mike Shinoda appeared on AXS TV's AXS Live on Thursday to talk about the efforts being made by the band's charity, Music for Relief, in the wake of superstorm Sandy.

He explained that helping out after natural disasters is "really what Music for Relief is designed for." Shinoda says that after both Hurricane Katrina and the earthquake and tsunami in Japan, "we definitely were on the ground and did our best, not only to sent money there, but to get on the ground and see it for ourselves and talk and connect with the people."

The organization is partnered with Save the Children in the U.S. and International Medical Corps in Haiti to get storm relief out to those in need.

Linkin Park's Mike Shinoda on how post-Sandy fundraising fits in with Music for Relief''s mission:

"We really started the organization to provide relief in the wake of natural disasters, so when something like this happens, this is really what Music for Relief is designed for."
