Only less than a month after Billie Joe Armstrong went to pursue treatment for substance abuse, comes the announcement that Green Day has cancelled their upcoming headlining performance at the Voodoo Music + Arts Experience in New Orleans, at the end of October.
Stephen Rehage, the founder/producer of Voodoo said in a statement on the festival's website, "We are obviously disappointed in the news, but realize the health and well being of Billie Joe is the most important thing right now. We wish him and the entire Green Day family the best and offer them our full support.”
The festival schdule is currently being revised. The Voodoo Music + Arts Experience is still set for the weekend of October 26-28. Other artists performing at the festival include Coheed and Cambria, Skrillex, Jack White, and more.
